Welcome back to my favorite weekly recap, The Originals was all new and my-oh-my was this a great way to start things up again. Need a refresher before we dig into the new episode? Recap “Reigning Pain in New Orleans” HERE!
It seems like we’ve gone back in time and someone has been killing or should I say Rebekah has been feeding. The opening scene is about Rebekah saving and letting the girls go free and be their own women. Now in real time New Orleans is celebrating the Casket Girls in celebration of women’s liberation.
Davina has her hands full with Cami as she tries to give her memory back to her and this is a very painful experience. There is no denying the chemistry between Elijah and Hayley, as she gets ready for the festivities, Elijah helps her into her dress and suggests that they go together. With the strain between Klaus and his brother she decides that maybe it’s not a good idea and asks him again to help her with undress. Serious tingles between them!
Klaus finds himself in a predicament as he discovers that Davina is missing. He calls Marcel and now they look to find her. Davina on the other hand has successfully brought back Cami’s memories which Klaus had compelled her to forget. Rebekah asks Hayley if anything she said might have driven the little witch away, perhaps it was the discovery that Marcel might in fact had been using Davina.
Guess who’s back now, Sophie and the witch clans. Now that they know that New Orleans is running under Klaus’ control they think that they can get away with some magic and maybe even find Davina. But not too fast, Davina can still sense it and tells Cami and Josh who decide it’s time to run. The sad realization hits Cami when she finds out that her uncle Father Kieran knows everything about witches, vampires and is close friends with Marcel.
Sophie is up to her old trickster way and now has threatened Hayley to help her or else they’ll lose her magic and Hayley’s family will be in danger. Someone by the name of Celeste Dubua seems to strike a chord with little wolf mama. As the town’s festivities take place, Klaus, Marcel, Elijah and Rebekah are on the look out for Davina. Klaus gets a hold of Timothy, Davina’s crush, and calls Josh to threaten to kill Tim if she doesn’t show up.
It’s bad news when Davina and Cami get to the church. After the call from Josh she wants to go save Tim but is stopped by powerful witches who try and bring her down. Davina infuriated summons her power on them, as they rise she kills them instantly with maybe one too many victims, Cami lays on the floor unconscious. As she leaves the church she runs into Josh who warns her about Klaus and everyone else. He then tells her that if she is going to kill, she better kill them all. Rebekah shows up and tells Josh that killing Klaus is bad news and only Davina and Josh will end up dead.
Angered and infuriated Davina goes to meet Klaus, Elijah and Marcel and man-oh-man is she not happy! Her first victim is Klaus, torturing and tormenting him she turns him into his hybrid self and knocks him unconscious, second is Elijah, NOO NOT HIM! Claiming to be the noble one, Davina doesn’t take it and makes him choke on his own blood, two down. Next Marcel, he tells her that he cares for her and is there to protect her but she won’t have it. Three down. Rebekah shows up as Marcel falls and tells her, “us girls need to stick together” her mantra for this episode. Bekah’s words of wisdom about how killing is such a boyish thing to do and that is not her brother, saves Tim and tells Davina that she can trust her but she has to show her one more thing. They head down to where Marcel kept his “trusted friends” and Rebekah explains to her about how even after Klaus was in control he still kept them there. When it’s time for a drink, Tim gives Davina some water but next thing we know Tim is telling Davina that Klaus made him do it and now is dying of poisoning.
Sophie and Hayley escape to the woods and it seems as if Hayles has betrayed Elijah by taking his spell book. Hayley tells Sophie everything that she knows and begins her spell. Back at the church Father Kieran finds Cami and ask if she’s ok, Cami lashes out and tells her uncle that she knows everything.
As Davina and Tim slowly die, Rebekah calls Klaus to ask him how to cure her. He laughs and says there is no cure and she is slowly dying. Funny thing though, Marcel and Elijah have been behind his back and Marcel had recruited a witch to save Davina in case Klaus tried something funny, like he just did. So Marcel tells him that she will be ok but unfortunately Tim won’t, Klaus angered and betrayed starts to ramble but is stopped by Elijah who reminds him that Davina is Marcel’s family, and we know nobody messes with family. Poor Davina is tired and heartbroken and taken back to her room. Lord knows how angry she will be when she wakes up.
“It is said that this is a mans world and sometimes it is. For every casket girl that was saved, countless others were not. But women are more resilient than given credit for.” This is what Rebekah recites as she is feeling more and more powerful. We find out that she has plans of her own. As she strengthens Tierry up, Marcel’s old best bud, she tells him that she wants to take down Klaus and Marcel. Then there’s Elijah and Marcel who talk about how will Davina forgive them after what has happened.
While Klaus is out on the town he runs into Cami, asking him if he’s shocked to see her, she tells him that she remembers all. Not one to be afraid anymore she makes sure to tell Klaus to not hurt Davina or Josh or she will expose him and everything he has. Back at the house Elijah tries to look for clues in Davina’s drawings. After Marcel tells him that some of the drawings are when Davina has sensed some powerful evil coming. When Elijah puts the pieces together we find out that it is none other than Celeste. The episode concludes with Hayley leaving the room where Elijah has the drawings and calling Sophie, who is digging up something, which ends up having Celeste’s face on it.
