‘The Originals’ Star Danielle Rose Russell on Hope’s Future & Taking Her Anger Out on Elijah [Exclusive]

Where there’s Hope Mikaelson, there’s a way.

With only a couple episodes left until fans say goodbye to “The Originals,” viewers will either witness a happy ending or see the city of New Orleans go down in flames — it all depends on how Danielle Rose Russell’s character, Hope, decides to handle her emotions.

“Hope is extremely powerful,” Russell, 18, tells me over the phone ahead of episode nine, “We Have Not Long to Love.” “No one has seen what she can do. So, in the next coming episodes, we get to see how powerful she truly is, after all, [she has all] this combined magic inside of her.”

It’s a whole new chapter for Elijah Mikaelson.

As the final season of “The Originals” begins getting down to its most intense and heartbreaking moments, Wednesday’s episode, “Ne Me Quitte Pas,” showed fans what the suave suit-wearing vampire has been up to since his memory was erased by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

The emotional ride saw Elijah relearning his vampire ways, meeting his new love interest, Antoinette (Jaime Murray), rejecting his brother, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and shedding his Mikaelson name for good.

‘The Originals’ Star Charles Michael Davis on Marcel and Rebekah’s Future & Return to New Orleans [Exclusive]

The Originals Charles Michael Davis Marcel

“The Originals'” final season has officially kicked off and already there are a lot of questions that need to be answered.

The season five premiere, “Where You Left Your Heart,” took fans right back to New Orleans, giving a brief update on what the Original family members have been up to over the past seven years. One in particular, Rebekah Mikaelson (Claire Holt), has been living a fairy tale life with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) in New York. When viewers reconnect with the lovebirds, Marcel gets down on one knee and proposes to Rebekah, showing her two envelopes. One reads, “If you say yes,” and the other one says, “If you say no.” While it should have been an easy call, the moment quickly turned emotional when Rebekah didn’t immediately accept the stunning ring.

Ahead of episode two, “One Wrong Turn on Bourbon,” I caught up with Charles Michael Davis to discuss Marcel’s future with “the love of all his lives” Rebekah, why it took so long for him to propose and his return to New Orleans.

originals

It’s “The Originals” recap time!

Forgot what happened last week in “”Live and Let Die”? No worries, recap episode 4 HERE.

We start the episode with a bloody Elijah chasing…Elena?

He wakes up from being chained and Esther is right there with him telling him that she is not in his head, that he was dreaming. She asks who he was dreaming about and chasing? Elijah is very feisty and Esther tells him that she wants him to become a witch and take the body of a new being. He tells her to let him go and he gets vicious. She reminds him that he gets into his savage stage and rips up every little “butterfly” love that he has because he is a beast and she brings up him first love. We go back in time and we see a young Elijah and a doppleganger Elena who only had eyes for one person, Elijah. So now we see this doppleganger talking to Elijah and see that she is attracted to him and she says, “I choose you Elijah” and they share their first kiss.

Red Door

Well, well, well…Now back to present time and Esther tells him that he always rips his butterflies apart and he says it happened when Esther drained his first love of her blood.

The Originals recap: “Live and Let Die”

originals

Today we’re recapping the 4th episode of “The Originals!”

To catch up on all the excitement, recap last week’s episode, HERE!

From last week we know that Esther is not in Lenore’s body and ready to destroy Klaus and Elijah.

We start off this week’s episode at Marcel’s place and his clan of vampires when all of a sudden they get intruders and a warning from the werewolves (under the control of witches) to leave town or else they will not hold back.

Welcome to the “City of Death,” as Camil names it.

We see her with Finn but I’m pretty sure that she has NO idea who he really is. From what we gather he’s her therapist and he is trying to get her to tell him everything she knows, especially about the guys that she has had in her life. So she starts talking about Klaus without actually mentioning him and Finn asks what happened and she says, “Not everyone wants to be saved.”

We see the real tension between Elijah and Hayley and it is definitely not the same between them. Camil is seen on the phone with Davina and D tells her that she is ok and hangs up with her. Cami then bumps into Klaus who has already figured out where Davina is just from overhearing the call with Camil.

Next we see Esther with Kol, they are trying to locate Davina and are unsuccessful. Finn comes in and Esther tells them that they need to find Davina and the white oak stake. We go back to Davina with Mikael who tells her that they should not hide and that her weakness will be her fear.

Marcel and his clan are worried about having to leave and getting killed by the werewolves. Then we see Elijah zoom in and snap a couple of the vamps necks as he says, “Lesson 1, always be on your guard.”

Live and Let Die

Finn, Oliver and a werewolf are in the cemetery and it seems like Finn has a plan to attack the vampires that involves a bunch of kids, killing and activating their curse. Back with Davina and Mikael, he is teaching her be strong, just what Davina wanted. He throws a stick at her and says, “Lesson 1, always be on your guard” just like Elijah had just said. They start to do some “training” but she twists her ankle and he tells her to get up. She is clearly hurt but again he tells her to get up and she does.

Camil and Klaus are at a bar, against Klaus’ wishes he wants to hurry over to Davins’s but Camil wanted to get a drink and not be rushed to the “killing” that she expects to happen between him and Mikael. We switch to Davina and see that her ankle is swollen and she is in pain. She calls Kol, even though she doesn’t know who he truly is, and tells him that she will send him the address where she is at and a list of things that she can maybe bring her…oh no!

If you don’t remember what happened last week, recap it HERE!

This week we start off knowing that dearest Momma and Poppa are back in town and ready to kill Klaus and Elijah. We see Esther cooking up something and then Hayley finding the food prepared in their courtyard with an invitation from their mom.

EveryMothersSonSneak2-feature

We go back in time to see little Elijah and Flynn and their mom asking where Klaus is. She goes to the woods and finds him all alone and his mom tells him to not be afraid, that she will be with him, always and forever. We go back to present time and Klaus is not happy to see his mother knowing that they will have to prepare for the worst. Elijah heads over to Marcel’s and tells him that the new vamp is not his burden, he turned the new vamp, Marcel should train her. All Elijah wants is to find a witch with which Marcel asks his new vamp to take Elijah to meet Lenore, the witch that can possibly help him.

Oliver meets up with another witch to get his ring back and “Cassie,” the witch, tells him that the ring comes with a price. Oliver informs Hayley about the new witch that is helping Esther, who then tells Klaus about it and he tells proceeds to tell Hayles the story of how his little brother died and how his mother went crazy.

Marcel-Elijah-and-Lenore-4

Back with Elijah, Marcel’s new vamp  proceeds to take Elijah to Lenore who tells the witch that he wants to find out how he can find out which body a certain witch will jump into next. But as he gets his deal and leaves, the witch that Oliver was with arrives to see Lenore, and oh no…we probably know what happens.

The Originals Recap: “Alive and Kicking”

originals

We’re back for episode 2 of “The Originals!”

If you missed the season premiere read the recap here.

We start off this week’s episode, “Alive and Kicking,” with a flashback of Klaus and Elijah back in the old days with a house full of dead people and their brother Kol who ends up being put to sleep with the stake by Klaus.

We go back to current day and see Elijah at the house with a bloody corpse in the front yard. Looks like Hayley has been a crazed new hybrid. She seems to have an appetite for witches and growing more savage as the days go by, thanks to Klaus who edges her on. Thus Elijah goes to Klaus to stop making her a wild animal but he tells her that she is embracing her new self.

Elijah is feeling nostalgic about the way that Hayley is acting thinking about the days in the past when Klaus was a terror, nothing new though. Elijah goes to Marcel to make a deal with him to find the white stake, but why does he want it? He tells Marcel to make Davina look for it and then we see her with Klaus’ dad. But it looks like someone who is working with the witch mom is stalking Davina. — I don’t like this witch as she is making new moonlight rings for the wolves and is for sure going to try and destroy the vampires.

AliveKicking22a

Hayley and Klaus are in the woods trying to find some part of her pack, they are both clearly distressed over their daughter. He makes her concentrate to find some clue as to where her family could be.

The Originals Recap: “Rebirth”

originals

“The Originals” is back and ready for season 2!

The best new show of last season is gearing up to takeover Monday night on The CW and we are ecstatic about the return.

So let’s start the recap of “Rebirth!”

In the beginning we see Rebekah with Klaus and Hayley’s baby telling her the current story of their lives in New Orleans.

Elijah is trying to buy a building and Klaus is going mad while Hayley is grieving her baby that she had to give away so that it wouldn’t be harmed. Then we see Marcel and Camille together in bed so lovey-dovey but then we hear her say, “No strings, no plans.”

Davina is a free witch and living a regular life, well as much as she can. Then when she goes into the record store a werewolf comes in and tries to kill the owner since he is a vampire.

There is a new witch in town and she is quite mysterious, from what I have captured in previews and clips is that she could be the Originals’ witch mother.

The Originals Recap: “Crescent City”

Opening scene a girl in a tomb screaming for help, Celeste is giving a guided tour to tourists in the cemetery and hello girl blasts out of the brick wall. Lo and behold it’s none other than Monique, Sophie’s niece!

Recap last week’s episode HERE, to refresh your memory on what’s happening on The Originals.

The church is up and running and Father Kieran welcomes the new people into the church. While he says goodbye to all the church people one witch grabs his hand, curses him and marks an x on his hand. Death is on the horizon for him. Now Marcel knows about the resurrected witch and thinks this is how they will get Davina back. Hayley thinks it’s the work of Celeste who Davina was warning them with with the picture she drew. Now Elijah who was Celeste’s lover is worried that Hayley might be in danger and begs Rebekah to take her to the plantation house. Bekah questions if this is to get her out of the way so she doesn’t plot against Klaus or because he truly wants Hayley to be safe.

Klaus knows that the witches are plotting against them and that they are raging war on them since the body of Papa Tunde is put in his home with the witches symbols. Father Kieran goes to the bar Cami works at and tells her that his time is limited, she gets scared and then a red headed witch tells her that she can save her uncle if she takes the knife that Papa Tunde had and stab it through Klaus’ heart.

The Originals Recap: “Dance Back From The Grave”

Celeste is back and ready to ignite her powers on New Orleans. Forgot how she got back and what happened with Davina? Refresh your memory HERE!

We start off with witches in the graveyard and a flashback memory of a gathering long ago in 1919, where the witches gathered to discuss the new evils that have arrived in New Orleans. A man in a white crisp suit, warns the citizens and tells them all that he will keep them safe if they accept his family into their coven and him as their leader since he holds new darker powers.

Elijah and Klaus looking dapper in their 20’s outfits show us their dealings with the humans of the city of New Orleans and how they got the chance to rule it. Then the new wizard, the man in the crisp white suit, Papa Tunde, shows up and bargains the witches safety while the Originals try and take over. He leaves them with a parting gift which is the mayor’s head.

Back to current time, Marcel is still torn from Davina’s death and Klaus sets Theirry free. Klaus’ next plan is to rouse up the witches but Marcel is still sulking. Rebekah and Elijah walk the city and she tells him about how she is sick of being controlled by Klaus and his tricks. Elijah believes that Klaus is approaching some sense of peace and if she doesn’t support him to please not provoke him.

Marcel and Klaus duke it out but get interrupted by Diego showing them two dead vampires with witch marks all over them. Marcel warns the other vamps that that is some messed up mojo and to stay away from it. Rebekah and Thierry stumble upon  witches work in an abandoned warehouse, Bekah questions why it would be there but thinks it was left out in the open on purpose. Then all of a sudden the man in the crisp white suit from the earlier flashbacks appears, Rebekah says that it is impossible. He tells her it is magic that brought him back and then reaches out to get, says some spells while choking her and then has a very sharp knife and stabs it through her forehead!
