New week, new tunes. This Music Monday has a mix of pop, punk and compositions from Danny Elfman, as well as the return of artists like Lana Del Rey and Linkin Park.
Up first is Ryan Adams with his first LP of original material since his 2014 album “Ryan Adams.”
Ryan Adams – “Prisoner”
Praised by music critics, Ryan Adams’ 16th studio album is a delightful array of songs that lets you sit back and think about life – in a good way. Adams fans will rejoice in having 12 new tunes that they can listen to on repeat.
Lana Del Rey – “Love”
Lana Del Rey released her first track in nearly 16 months, her last was a collaboration with The Weeknd on “Party Monster” and “Stargirl Interlude” from his LP Starboy. “Love” is from her forthcoming, yet untitled album.
“I made my first 4 albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed,” the singer said in a statement. Enjoy below!

Linkin Park – “Heavy” feat Kiiara
Linkin Park released the first song from their upcoming album “One More Light,” out May 19. The track is a bit different from what we’ve previously heard from the group, which ultimately has fans split. Take a listen below and tell me what you think.
“The band, with every album, every song we’re trying to challenge ourselves. We like to try new things,” Mike Shinoda told Billboard. “We want to explore new territory with the sounds and the songwriting. We’ve always been about mixing styles; I mean, ‘Hybrid Theory’ was the name of our band before we changed it to Linkin Park. Linkin Park fans know that with every album you never know what you’re going to get, and the style can change dramatically and different elements, different genres that we listen to might sit more in the forefront than others.”
Ed Sheeran – “How Would You Feel (Paean)”
Sheeran’s latest single from his upcoming album, “Divide,” is a ballad that tells the story of two lovers. *Swoon*
Danny Elfman – “Fifty Shades Darker” Score
We’ve already listened to the “Fifty Shade” sequel soundtrack, which features tracks from Zayn and Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas and Nicki Minaj, among others. Now, indulge your creative side with Elfman’s original compositions that accompany the steamy film.
Cashmere Cat – “Love Incredible” Feat Camila Cabello
The former Fifth Harmony member has released her first 2017 solo track, which is featured on Cashmere Cat’s upcoming debut album “Wild Love.” The pop tune is produced by Sophie and perfectly showcases Cabello’s high-pitched pipes.
New Discovery of the Week: Anna Wise – “The Feminine: Act II”
I’ve only listened to a couple tracks, but what I’ve heard so far is a diverse mix of creative and badass tunes.
Of her music video for her lead single, “Coconuts,” Wise said in a statement: “I wanted to tell the story of a woman approaching a life changing event who travels to the edge of the earth to seek advice from her guides. I wanted to show female unity. The energy on set was that of a teenage sleep over, and I mean that in the best possible way. We spoke about love and orgasm and art and activism and intersectional feminism while we massaged each other’s feet and stretched. We ate together and sang together between takes. We spent more time relaxing than we did shooting the actual video.”
Check out Wise’s full album and the single’s video below.
What do you think of the Linkin Park track? It’s getting so much hate online haha
It took me a couple listens to get into it. It’s also a super short song and less rock/rap than I expected. But it’ll be interesting to see how their entire album sounds.
Agreed. I’m very curious as to the rest of the album after this one. I don’t mind the evolution so we’ll see! By the way, would love for you to share your articles in our Facebook community of music fans and bloggers 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/groups/musicmoguls/
