Music Monday: Keira Knightley “Like A Fool” Begin Again

This weekend I literally got blown away by how amazing, inspiring and beautiful “Begin Again” was. The new indie film starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine was nothing less than perfection.

Seriously though, not many people I told knew about this movie but I highly recommend it. It made all the emotions I could feel come out and it told such a beautiful life story about growing up, going after your dreams, change and what would you do if it all happened to you and you had to choose, fame, money, career and/or love.

That wasn’t even the half of it though. What made me go bonkers and bananas for it was the music. The pure, raw, emotional music and lyrics that came out of Keira Knightley was luminous and outstanding. She is a gem! Every single song she sang was incredibly put together and I commend the writers and musicians that worked on this soundtrack because I am totally buying it.

Now this song, “Like A Fool,” was one of my favorites, no joke in the movie it almost made me cry…ok it might have. But just listen to it and let me know what you think.

Happy Monday peeps!

Music Monday: “A Sky Full Of Stars” – Coldplay

OK so I am obsessed with everything Coldplay and this performance of their latest hit, “A Sky Full of Stars” on The Voice is exceptional!

The way that the light, the stage and the performance blends so well just makes me so happy and brightens my mood. And hey, who doesn’t need a mood booster every once in a while.

So begin the week with a little bit of my favorite band and one of their best songs.

Music Monday: Foster The People – “Coming of Age”

This week on “Music Monday” I bring you a semi-oldie but goodie!

“Coming of Age” by Foster The People is catchy and oh-so-good, I would even go ahead and say it beats “Pumped up Kicks,” but that’s just me.

It’s currently on repeat on te radio and I turn it up whenever I hear it.

Listen to this song and let me know what you think.

Pharrell – “Marilyn Monroe”

Can we have a moment of silence for the new amazing Pharrell music video?

Just released today, “Marilyn Monroe” has got me spinning in my chair and hitting replay over and over again.

His second single off of “GIRL” has a guest appearance from Kelly Osbourne and choreographer/director Fatima Robinson, who I especially love since she has worked with BSB and did their choreography for “As Long As You Love Me.”

Ok, so watch the video, enjoy all of his Vivienne Westwood hats, wish that you were one of the lucky ladies included in this vid and hit repeat once or twice or a hundred times.

“Out of My League” – Fitz And The Tantrums #MM

I don’t know much about this band and I’ve never heard of them before this catchy tune hit the radio. “Out of My League” is definitely in the top 5 of my fav songs of the moment and which good reason.

It’s a great nodding, swaying, snapping song that makes me want to go buy the vinyl version of their album and just have a 50’s dance party in my house…too much?

Anyway, Fitz And The Tantrums really impressed me with this song and once I find a great song I like I tend to go look for more from that artist. What I have learned is that they are from Los Angeles and they received great attention from their debut album “Pickin’ Up The Pieces.”

Formed in 2008, the indie-neo soul band was named “Ones to Watch” in 2011 Rolling Stone. Good for them.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Music Monday: “Do I Wanna Know” – Arctic Monkeys

Sometimes after a long day of writing you need to go home and write some more, right?

Happy Monday!

It’s a new week filled with more beginnings and lessons. While I vent it out by listening to music let me give you a little taste of what I’ve been listening to lately.

“Do I Wanna Know” by the Arctic Monkeys is sensual and sexual in all the right ways. The slow rock beats are pretty amazin’, if I do say so myself. Every time it’s on I can’t help but turn up the volume and just mellow out.

Listen for yourself, enjoy the sounds of this great song and suggests more songs that I should check out!

Music Monday: Katy Perry Feat. Juicy J “Dark Horse”

Katy Perry has released her music video for the music anticipated song “Dark Horse” featuring rapper Juicy J and let me tell you it’s genius.

Now I might be a little biased since the song is #1 on my playlist right now, but whether you like her or not, the video is an imagery spectacle. From bright colors, Egyptian themes, outstanding make-up and even tasty treats, Perry is looking might fine. Her Cleopatra inspired vid not only shows her in her favorite colored wigs but also in the nude covered in silver paint.

She sure is a beast and it does get a little ridiculous when she eats hot Cheetos and then begs for water only to be shot down. Then there’s Juicy J with a hydraulic carriage, is that Boo Boo the dog I see? Well it’s visually great and I give it a thumbs up!

Music Monday: “Talk Dirty” – Jason Derulo Feat. 2 Chainz

Now there’s one thing I appreciate more than anything in a music video. What is that exactly? Sick dance moves! Moves that make me want to start up my dancing career and go all out on the dance floor.

Now Jason Derulo already is known for his wicked moves, but this new music video is none stop insane! “Talk Dirty” featuring 2 Chainz is fun, upbeat, tropical and most of all makes me want to get up and shake it!

The way that the shadow falls over the dancers when the chorus drops is my favorite. It reminds me of my old days in Dance Productions when we would have control over the lighting in our dances. Well enough about me, go on and talk dirty on the dance floor with this jam!

Music Video Monday: “Can’t Remember To Forget You” – Shakira Feat. Rihanna

Hot, cigars, and bodacious bods are just some key words to describe this music video. You can also add, spicy, sexual, and oh man!

“Can’t Remember To Forget You” by Shakira featuring Rihanna has been out for a while now but with less than two weeks of the music video being out it already has over 105 million views. But I mean come on, it’s obvious why! These ladies are hot!

Check out the video and enjoy the catchy song.

A Little Bit of Inspiration, If I Do Say So Myself: Lose Yourself

So I guess I should announce that I got a new job as a writer/reporter for a new start-up website. This is super exciting for me as it would be my first “career” position and the title just puts a great smile on my face.

While it will be a challenge, it’s a challenge that will benefit me for my future. So why the Eminem video? Well for starters, I do love me some Slim Shady, but the lyrics are also pretty inspirational, minus the cussing but you catch my drift. Let’s check out my favorite lines:

“Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity,
to seize everything you ever wanted, one moment,
would you capture it or just let it slip?”

Really though, would you capture the opportunity or be too afraid to take it? I took it!

“The moment, you own it, you better never let it go.
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow.
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime.”

You never know what life will bring you, so take chances, take the risk and see how life unfolds.

“Success is my only motherfucking option, failure’s not” … Self explanatory.

“You can do anything you set your mind to, man”… or woman! You do you! And while you’re at it achieve those goals.

🙂 Happy Friday
