Fashion week came and went, and I wish I could’ve had more time to really take it in and watch every runway show. There’s something wild and risqué about Fashion Weeks overseas, the designers’ collections have more of everything: More leather, more lace, more ruffles and more over-the-top looks.
Dior stunned once again during Paris Fashion Week, with Maria Grazia Chiuri showcasing her navy blue collection. From elegant to everyday wear, she’s definitely cementing herself as the new head honcho at the French Maison.
Dior Fall/Winter 2017
Paris Couture Week took place January 22 to 26 and featured a slew of breathtaking looks and collections from the fashion industry’s top designers.
Exquisite pieces, glamorous ensembles, over-the-top and irresistible gowns and outfits overtook the runways. Among those that stood out for me were – of course – Dior and Valentino. I will continue to follow Maria Gracia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s designs, even if they are no longer working together.

Last year, Maria Grazia Chiuri made her Dior debut during September Fashion Week, premiering her bold new spring and summer collection. Now, the French maison’s latest artistic director has debuted her 2017 pre-fall collection, which is just as visually stunning and filled with female empowerment as her previous offering.
September 2016 marked Maria Grazia Chiuri’s debut at Christian Dior. Her first collection was a home run, with a fresh, feminine and magical new look for the house. Hoping to give Dior a more modern look, she told Vogue that the message of the collection is, “that there is not one kind of woman.”
Catering to many, the ex- Valentino designer impressed many around the world with her bold new creations. According to the magazine, for future collections, Chiuri plans to draw inspiration from previous Dior designers. “Monsieur Dior only lives 10 years. It can’t only be about him!” she said. “In some ways, I see myself as a curator of the house.”
