Fashion week came and went, and I wish I could’ve had more time to really take it in and watch every runway show. There’s something wild and risqué about Fashion Weeks overseas, the designers’ collections have more of everything: More leather, more lace, more ruffles and more over-the-top looks.
Dior stunned once again during Paris Fashion Week, with Maria Grazia Chiuri showcasing her navy blue collection. From elegant to everyday wear, she’s definitely cementing herself as the new head honcho at the French Maison.
Dior Fall/Winter 2017
Paris Couture Week took place January 22 to 26 and featured a slew of breathtaking looks and collections from the fashion industry’s top designers.
Exquisite pieces, glamorous ensembles, over-the-top and irresistible gowns and outfits overtook the runways. Among those that stood out for me were – of course – Dior and Valentino. I will continue to follow Maria Gracia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s designs, even if they are no longer working together.
When I went to Rome in September of last year, I walked into the two-story Valentino store and felt like I was in heaven. I slowly walked around, my fingers brushing the delicate fabric, careful to not ruin anything, excited to actually be in the presence of such beautiful art created by Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri.
Now, Piccioli has launched his second solo offering for Valentino since Chiuri left the house for Dior; and his Pre-Fall 2017 collection is just as dreamy, angelic and feminine as ever.
On June 6 Valentino’s Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented their last Fall 2016 Haute Couture collection at Paris’s stately Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. The dynamic duo will no longer be working together now that Chiuri will take over as artistic director of Dior and their late feat was spectacular.
Every Fashion Week the show that I look most forward to is Valentino. The recent designs of Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri for Summer/Spring 2016 were just exquisite and immediately after the show I always have to look at every piece once it’s posted online. Last season the house wow-ed us with having “Zoolander” stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson walk the runway, this time during Paris Fashion Week they opted for a more celeb catwalk-free spectacle and more of an African inspired collection. Take a look for yourself!
Valentino never disappoints!
Thanks to Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chuiri and Pierpaolo Picciolo we saw a variety of looks for Fall 2015 on the Paris Fashion Week runway this Tuesday, March 10.
I die for anything black and white so the top looks that kicked off the show were some of my favorite. (Note: the last one with the revealing cleavage came towards the end, but still!) I love the simplicity and the casual cool factor that they instantly radiate.
Now this show was unlike any other! First off we got a surprise at the end when Derek Zoolander and Hansel AKA Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson closed the show as their “Zoolander” personas to announce the release of “Zoolander 2”, (which happens to be Feb 16. 2016).
Anyway now back to fashion and my favorite looks!

Welcome to Trendsetting Tuesday where this week we will take it back to Paris Fashion Week SS15 and see the outstanding couture collections of one of my favorite designers, Valentino.
For a while now I have been a Valentino enthusiast, enthralled and enamored by the delicate details and textures. I admire the colors, the fabrics, the looks and the quality of Italian exquisiteness.
Let’s take a look at a handful of dresses that caught my eyes.
Without a doubt all white looks have captured my attention this season! I die for anything white, flowy and especially intricate and delicate like these looks.
Keep reading for more awesome looks.
