This year I want bring back my Music Monday segment on La Vida Liz to spotlight new music, what I’m listening to and hopefully get new recommendations.
This past weekend I was listening to John Mayer’s first wave of songs from his upcoming album “The Search for Everything.” He had already released “Love on the Weekend” and has now shared three new tracks. Mayer plans to release four new songs from his forthcoming album once a month until the project’s official release.
The Maine released the music video for their latest single “Am I Pretty” from their album “American Candy.” The Arizona-based quintet send a powerful message about self-love and embracing the qualities that make you unique and different.
The five minute video starts with a diverse group of people talking about incidents in their life when they were criticized, told they weren’t good enough and other obstacles that they have had to endure. We then see lead-singer John O’Callaghan, Kennedy Brock, Pat Kirch, Jared Monaco and Garrett Nickelsen, all dressed in blue suits, setting up to start the song.

Tonight’s “Music Monday” selection comes from The Maine and their new single “Miles Away” that was released last week.
The fun, up-beat jam has a killer chorus that makes you bob your head up and down and throw your arms up in the air. All throughout I catch myself tapping my foot and thanks to the lyric video above I can sing along.
