Coldplay rocked the Super Bowl 50 stage on Sunday, Feb 7. The British ensemble, lead by Chris Martin, kicked off the halftime show singing “Viva La Vida” while hundreds of fans ran on the field and bright colors and kaleidoscope designs took over Levi Stadium.

After Coldplay did their thing, Mark Ronson took over as DJ, busting the beats to “Uptown Funk” and out came Bruno Mars in all black, sporting an MC Hammer look. The most talked about moment came when Beyoncé debuted her newest single “Formation” with her per-usual out of this world choreography. There was an amazing dance-off between Bruno and Bey that made me think that they should go on tour together. The finale came perfectly together when all three artists were on stage to sing “Up & Up” and the crowd held up signs that spelled out “believe in love.”

Check out the set list below and the full performance.

New Music: Roy English “XO”

Excuse my lack of Music Monday post yesterday, I was still celebrating the last day of my birthday weekend and I’m glad I waited because late last night a beautiful gem of a song appeared on my twitter feed.

“XO” by Roy English is a cover from Beyoncé‘s new album but from the sounds of it you would think it was a whole new track. Amazing doesn’t even begin to cover it! It’s light, dreamy, soothing and most of all out of this world. Now some might know Roy English from his former days on Eye Alaska, now transitioning to his own solo project he’s back and better than ever. I can clearly say that there is nothing I haven’t heard from him that I do not instantly love. His old soul, lost boy, artistic style is beyond this generation and transcends the current pop, over produced music we constantly hear. His raw voice and sound is like magic, it amazes you and yet you can’t believe it’s true but for a minute you just stand there and think about the beauty of it all. Yeah, yeah, I’m being overdramatic but have you heard this? Or any of his other stuff?

Take a listen and get back to me after you’ve had it on repeated all day like I have.

Music Monday: Beyonce feat. Jay-Z “Drunk In Love”

Remember “Crazy in Love” by Beyonce feat. Jay Z way back when? Well apparently now B and J are “Drunk In Love”.

Queen Bey recently surprised and changed the music game with an unexpected album release. Out of the blue she released something that captured the entire music industries ears and attention. Of course who better than to pull a fast one on us than B herself.

Now with new songs and videos, Beyonce shows us that being drunk and in love with your hubby is just oh-so-good.

Make sure to keep up with #MusicMondays on La Vida Liz.

Happy Monday!
