Music Monday: “Say Something” – A Great Big World feat. Christina Aguilera AMA’s 2013

Talk about hearts bursting and breaking from a breath taking performance by A Great Big World and the iconic Christina Aguilera at the 2013 American Music Awards last night.

The deep and sorrowful song is already lovely by itself but adding Christina’s perfect pitch made it out of this world. You could tell how into the emotional song she was and looked stunning with simple makeup and a classic black maxi. She was just perfection!

Check out the song and have your heart just sigh.

#TT: Amy Poehler Honored at Variety’s Power of Comedy Event (PHOTOS)

Throwing it back EXACTLY two years ago when my Variety of Comedy article was posted on Celebuzz. A great event honoring Amy Poehler and benefiting a great cause. See the full article below and HERE!

Celebrities attend Variety's 2011 Power of Comedy Awards

Posted 2 years ago   •   by Liz Calvario

The second annual Variety Power of Comedy event tickled some funny bones this past weekend and Celebuzz was there! This year’s honoree was none other than the hilariously talented Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler.

The event honored Amy for her numerous contributions to comedy, followed by a night of stand-up and sketch comedy performances benefiting the Noreen Fraser Foundation (which focuses on women’s cancer research).

Stand-up acts included T.J. Miller, The League star Nick Kroll, Casey Wilson, Happy Endings starand Sarah Silverman. As the night came to a close, SNL and Up All Night actress and comedian Maya Rudolph spoke some wise words of congratulations by telling the crowd:

“Tonight, I would like to sing a song for you, a beautiful song, by the always tasteful and utterly brilliant lyricist Mr. R. Kelly, and it is entitled ‘Sex in the Kitchen.’ You’re welcome.”

She proceeded to sing the dramatic song for the audience.

The hilarious, comedy filled night ended with comedic superstar Will Ferrell presenting the honor to the woman of the evening. Amy came up to accept the honor by giving an exuberantly comical and entertaining speech. Picking out her favorite quotes of the night, she went on to say:

“This has been my kind of night; everything’s kind of hard to hear, everything’s a bit sloppy, the ceiling is too high but everyone’s heart is in the right place…it is an honor to be honored. To all the wonderful people who did a video tonight, thanks but no thanks. I know how easy it is to do a video. Videos are easy. You can’t drag your ass down here to shake my hand in person, you’re dead to me.  So I don’t care about your words and I don’t care about you.

The Variety Power of Comedy award has a very long and prestigious history dating back to 2009. I am the first woman to win. Yes it is about time! Ladies we are really breaking barriers tonight!”

Also in attendance was Amy’s husband Will Arnett, Whitney star Whitney Cummings, Parks and Recs costars Aubrey Plaza and Adam Scott, plus David Henrie, Gene Simmons, Sarah Colonna, and many more celebs who had nothing but kind words to say about Amy.

Rewind To 1999 VMA’s

From all the commotion of Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards I decided to not even add anymore fuel to the fire and say what everyone has already said. So to take it back to the good ol’ days when I watched enthusiastically and waited for my fav pop artists to show up I decided to post one of my favorite performances.

The days when boy bands ruled the world and they ACTUALLY danced. Backstreet Boys performing “I Want It That Way” and then transitioning to “Larger Than Life”. When A.J.’s crop top was the center of discussion and their choreography made me want to start a dance career.

What was your favorite VMA performance of all time?

Hottest Looks at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards

nina dobrev

The Vampire Diaries hottie steals the show.

Last night brought us the 2013 Teen Choice Awards and while everyone sat patiently waiting for One Direction or JB to pop up, I looked at the clothes and best dressed looks on the blue carpet.

What I like about the TCA’s is that it’s such a party. No fancy shmancy ball gowns, just celebs getting to show off their personal style and dress casually cool.

Here are my top chicas who’s outfits I wouldn’t mind stealing.

Erin Andrews

Fox Sports Host stuns at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev is my favorite! This splattered one piece jumpsuit is to die for and fits in perfectly with the occasion. Her ponytail and simple makeup complete the look so it’s not over-the-top.

Fox Sports host Erin Andrews worked the carpet with a simple black strapless jumpsuit and the great gold belt. She also did a great job with keeping the look simple and elegant with a side braid, single sole shoes and glowing bronze makeup.

"Come and Get It" Singer Can GET IT!

Selena Gomez was the talk of the town shutting down the competition for best dressed all across the media sites. Her impeccable tastes continues with this seductive yet conservative dress that hugs in all the right places. Two slits in the front show off a little something-something while still keeping it classy! You go girl!

Lucy Hale was perfectly adorable with her white cropped top and full skirt. I loved her choice of outfit because she kept it simply sweet, yet sexy with a peek of her tummy! This would be a great brunch outfit in Malibu or any beach for that matter! Minimal jewelry keeps this look light and easy going, just how I imagine her personality to be!

Ok let’s talk about Lily Collins’ amaze and craze black and white high low skirt! I am all about it, what I’m not loving is the up-do but that’s another story. It’s such a great statement piece that is timeless. Her choice of top works well with the skirt to minimize the grand effect it has.

Lastly Shay Mitchell is a knock out with her deep V white top and trouser pants. Her tousled golden locks work well with her ensemble. To finish the look  her bright golden green heels work wonders.

Hail to That Long Tail, I Die!

Hail to That Long Tail, I Die!

What shocks me out of all these outfits is the minimal to none jewelry. Where are the statement necklaces I die for? The dangley earrings? I guess less is more and with these outfits they work well with no fuss around the collar. Now that you’ve heard my favs what were yours?
