Oscars 2016: Best Dressed of The Night

The 88th annual Academy Awards took place on Sunday, February 28 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. My favorite part of the show is seeing the red carpet get filled with actresses and their amazing dress choices.

Here are my top 8 choices of the night!

The gorgeous Vinyl actress donned a white Grecian Valentino Haute Couture gown, a Roger Vivier clutch and Neil Lane jewelry.
The Academy Award nominee in a Brandon Maxwell custom design.
Best Actress nominee in a Armani Privé seafoam green gown that featured hand sewn Swarovski crystals and white feathers, Giuseppe Zanotti heels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and jewelry by Tiffany & Co.
The Best Actress nominee in a Dior Haute Couture gown, Manolo Blahnik shoes, and Chopard jewelry.

Flashback Friday: ‘Beautiful, Dirty, Rich’ – Lady Gaga

Bang, bang. We’re beautiful and dirty rich!

Gahhh, I miss this Lady Gaga! The one that I would have loved to party with, have a dance-off and with whom I’d love to run the town.

Not saying I wouldn’t do it now but come on, she was like the coolest chick in town when she told me, “Just dance. Gonna be okay. Da-doo-doo-doo.”

To lighten up your spirits (and mine), in this gloomy LA day, or wherever you may be at, let’s Flashback Friday to “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” by Mama Monster herself and relive those moments we danced in front of our mirror, with our chicas and jumped on the bed saying,

“Daddy I’m so sorry, I’m so s-s-sorry yeah. We just like to party, like to p-p-party yeah!”

Umm, was that just me? Eh, either way…

Trendsetting Tuesday: The New Face of Versace

Versace has a new face and it’s none other than Mama Monster. The ARTPOP singer is seen in a lilac gown, fair skin and long blond, Donatella like hair in the new ad.

The Italian brand tweeted, “#Versace proudly confirms @LadyGaga as the face of SS14 campaign shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott #VersaceLovesGaga” on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Not a huge surprise for the duo teaming up as Lady Gaga paid homage to Donatella Versace in her new album with a song titled “Donatella”. Gaga expressed her excitement via twitter stating, “I’m so happy to be working w/ @Versace for the new Campaign! What do you wanna wear this Spring? #Donatella #famiglia.”

Here’s to looking at you GAGA!

Music Monday: “Alien”- Britney Spears

Britney‘s back again with a new song from her eighth studio album Britney Jean. The song titled “Alien” is ridiculously good, I mean it’s less hyped up and a step down from “You Better Work B****” but the subdued tone and melody make you sway and smile.

Here are some facts about the newly leaked song:

  • Britney Spears voiced her excitement about this song stating it was “really great” and “really cool”
  • It was produced by William Orbit
  • Apparently this isn’t the final version which he stated on Twitter, “It’s the wrong version of ‘Alien’ that’s out there. Right song, but had wrong chorus notes, (now fixed) on THE version.”
  • It was rumored to have Lady Gaga featured on it, obvious choice for a song titled ‘Alien’ huh?

Music Monday: Venus

Lady Gaga, that extraterrestrial being, has taken us out of this world once again with her new song “Venus”.

Paying homage to Venus, goddess of love and beauty, I must say its 80’s retro vibe is pretty catchy. I can’t even begin to imagine how the music video for this will turn out. Not one to simplify her work of art, and yes whether you’re a Gaga fanatic or not she produces art, I’m sure we’ll get a rather extravagant music video for this song.

On point for another great dance hit, I also better be seeing a great dance routine for this single. Her up and coming album ARTPOP is scheduled to be out on November 11 and already has fans going wild from all the snippets that have been released. Due to give us something totally different from her last album Born This Way, I’ll be keeping my ears open for new Gaga songs.

“When you touch me I die just a little inside, I wonder if this could be love?”
