Ever seen a designer’s name and wondered how to say it correctly without embarrassing yourself or having to say “erm *cough *cough insert my guess and say it really fast so no one understands anyways?”
Well my friends, now we are in luck! Thanks to the fabulousness that is Harper’s Bazaar I stumbled across the fashion magazine’s cheat-sheet for people like us who love fashion but don’t always know how to pronounce names like Comme des Garçons, Roksanda Ilincic or even Miu Miu (we know we’ve all said mi mi at least once, no?) and Hervé Léger.

So here’s the correct pronunciation, spelled phonetically, so we won’t stumble and mumble through our designers names.
Anna Sui: anna swee
Ann Demeulemeester: ann de-mule-eh-meester
Azzedine Alaia: azz-eh-deen ah-lie-ah
Badgley Mischka: badge-lee meesh-kah
Bottega Veneta: bow-tay-guh vah-netta

Valentino never disappoints!
Thanks to Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chuiri and Pierpaolo Picciolo we saw a variety of looks for Fall 2015 on the Paris Fashion Week runway this Tuesday, March 10.
I die for anything black and white so the top looks that kicked off the show were some of my favorite. (Note: the last one with the revealing cleavage came towards the end, but still!) I love the simplicity and the casual cool factor that they instantly radiate.
Now this show was unlike any other! First off we got a surprise at the end when Derek Zoolander and Hansel AKA Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson closed the show as their “Zoolander” personas to announce the release of “Zoolander 2”, (which happens to be Feb 16. 2016).
Anyway now back to fashion and my favorite looks!

It’s taken me more than a week to sit down and really post my favorite looks from the Dolce&Gabbana Fall/Winter 2015 collection from Milan Fashion Week. My breath was taken away when I saw the collection and look by look I fell in love wanting to wear each dress right this instant.
So I start off with the first three looks at the top. Ok, my favorite color is red then black and white so I just couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw the color palette. The lace, the floral prints, the fabric and the designs are exceptional. The white dress with the bright red flowers, the black see-through tulle with the short sleeves and black undergarments is beautiful and the bright red dress is cocktail party perfection.
More looks onward!
Second day at Mercedes Benz New York Fashion week and today is a cold day. I woke up and it was snowing! Not crazy snowing though, there was just a nice blanket of white on the ledge and down below from my hotel room.
Today’s adventure consisted of me taking the subway by myself. My friend Marissa had taken me on it yesterday and told me it was a quick stop to the Lincoln Center and it was! When I walked outside it wasn’t as bad as I had imagined and quickly started getting warmed up as I walked a couple blocks to the subway entrance. When I arrived it was a short 2 minute walk upstairs to arrive at the MBFW building and take my seat at the Michael Costello show.
The lights dimmed and the show began with a Nicki Minaj song and various black lace outfits emerged from backstage. A little to the front and side was Adrienne Bailon and apparently Christina Milian and Chris Brown were there but I didn’t catch a glimpse of them.
Well I am officially in New York for Fashion Week and am exhausted! I took a red eye, left around 12:30am and arrived almost at 9am. I quickly put on my winter clothes and took a taxi to my hotel to where I wasn’t allowed to check in until 4pm. I rested, ate and recharged to head out to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and attend the Angel Sanchez show. Let me tell you, it was incredible! The designs were majestic, beautiful, mind blowing and it was amazing to get to see them in real life walking right by you and catch a glimpse of the detailing. I’m impressed by all the people who dress up super fabulous and chic because this winter chill is out of control! It’s freezing and I mean freezing! For a Cali girl like me who hasn’t spent much time in the snow it has been a world wind of emotions in this blistering cold but thank goodness for taxis. Continue reading
Bang, bang. We’re beautiful and dirty rich!
Gahhh, I miss this Lady Gaga! The one that I would have loved to party with, have a dance-off and with whom I’d love to run the town.
Not saying I wouldn’t do it now but come on, she was like the coolest chick in town when she told me, “Just dance. Gonna be okay. Da-doo-doo-doo.”
To lighten up your spirits (and mine), in this gloomy LA day, or wherever you may be at, let’s Flashback Friday to “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” by Mama Monster herself and relive those moments we danced in front of our mirror, with our chicas and jumped on the bed saying,
“Daddy I’m so sorry, I’m so s-s-sorry yeah. We just like to party, like to p-p-party yeah!”
Umm, was that just me? Eh, either way…
